A prayer for healing and deliverance modeled after King Jehoshaphat’s prayer in 2 Chronicles 20:5-21
Almighty Father, our King and God from ages past, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the nations of the earth. Power and might belong to you, and none can withstand you. O God, did you not banish the darkness and void from the earth and cause your light to shine upon man, whom you formed in your image? We who are called by your name come before you now, crying out in distress that you may hear and save us from the plague of COVID-19. See how this calamity has overtaken the nations, seeking to destroy your creation. Almighty God have mercy! For we have no power to face this virus which attacks ferociously and relentlessly. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.
By faith, we declare that we will not be afraid or discouraged because of the apparent vastness of the corona virus. For the battle is not ours, but God’s. We will not have to fight; we will stand firm and see the miraculous deliverance God will bring. We will not be afraid, and we will not be discouraged. We will have faith, for the Lord is with us and for us.
