Life Abundant – Passion Unleashed

Paul going to preach in synagogue

What would the world look like if we all lived out our lives with passion, fully embracing our call and design?

I remember watching the series AD – The Bible Continues, and truly despising the character who played Saul.  His desire to eliminate the Jesus followers was quite disturbing, and I had trouble wrapping my mind around the fact that this was supposed to be the beloved Apostle Paul who wrote most of the New Testament.

Then Saul encountered Jesus while heading to Damascus to do even more damage to the believers.   And just like that, everything changed.  The minute his sight was restored and his calling confirmed, Paul got right back on the warpath.  Only this time, he was warring for Jesus and not against him.  I had to chuckle at the stricken expression on Barnabas and Ananias’ faces when the freshly converted Paul marched into a Synagogue to preach about Jesus.

Talk about a 180!  But was it, really?  Paul was a man of conviction and passion.  He was zealous for the truths he held dear (whatever they might have been), and his was a no holds barred approach to letting everyone know exactly where he stood.  Today, people the world over read his letters for guidance and instruction in the Christian faith.  His passion continues to resound through the ages.

What would the world look like if YOU lived out your life as the YOU God designed with passion, conviction and zeal?  Romans 8:19 says “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.”  Creation breathlessly awaits the unveiling of God in His people, yet too many of us remain covered up, never manifesting that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image.

My prayer this week (and always) is that our true selves will be unleashed that creation may rejoice in the revelation of God’s glorious handiwork.

Be blessed,
