About

Too often we associate the Bible with some dust covered, leather bound tome banished to the nether regions of a bookcase and unearthed only for certain occasions, like maybe a wedding, christening or a funeral. Or worse still, a collection of rules designed to make us feel bad about ourselves. And so to make it all better, we choose to believe that it is outdated and has no relevance to life as we know it today.

But The Word of God is described as a fire and a hammer, living and powerful, the sword of the Spirit, inspired by God and even as God Himself. What jumps out in all of this is that it is alive. It’s not just words on a page – it is versatile, beyond our comprehension, bottomless.

If we can’t see God’s word for what it truly is, how can we ever know God?

Jesus said that anyone who does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it. This statement puzzled me for years until one day the light bulb came on. What better imagination than a child’s? What better frame of mind in which to open oneself to wonders that cannot be explained – versatile, beyond our comprehension, bottomless. Without faith it is impossible to please God, for we must believe that He is, and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Join me on this journey to explore the wonderful adventure of God’s word as children seeking our Father, the greatest Author of all.

I read your devotional on ODB today and it had me thinking for a long time. We all must find a way to share the gospel. Your writing about the day of Pentacost made me think about the wonder of growing Christ’s followers by 3000 people in one day. What if we could do that? Post something on social media that would generate 3000 new followers in one day. It has been done I’m sure but with God’s spirit, we could probably do more. Thank you for your writing and the inspiration it brings. Stay blessed.

    1. Hello Neri, I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the devotional and absolutely love the angle which inspired you the most. Wouldn’t it be something to have 3K people today accept Jesus because of something his followers have done?? Truly a humbling thought; I pray that we may experience such revival to the glory of His Name. Thank you so much for taking the time to check out wordzpread, and for leaving a comment. I’d appreciate your thoughts on the new direction I’m taking 🙂

      God bless!
